AboutJust who are Flat 29?Flat 29 are Dan, Rich and Charlie. They met between the years of 04-05 at poncy performing arts school, LIPA, doing Sound Technology and Music Management degrees. They lived together for 3 years in the recently burned down "Flat 29" (Hence the name.. see?) Over the course of their time living together, they spent valuable coursework and revision time in the recording studio lovingly crafting silly songs about soup and plastic bags and soap operas at the taxpayers expense. They currently have 2 full albums, soon to be able to download from this very site. They now live scattered around the south of England, and put together these podcasts via hastily arranged visits, or hastily arranged skype conferences. So why are they actually doing podcasts?During their time at LIPA, they had a show on the university radio station, the concept of which informs the basis of the podcast - namely, to take a thing, and talk about things relating to that thing. The second year of these shows were made into podcasts, and can be re-lived here They loved doing those bloody podcasts, so have decided to start up this new one, on a bigger scale, with a website and everything. Where does all that music they use come from? Most of the music used on the podcast, including stings, backing music, and full songs, are Flat 29's own compositions, for which they own the copyright. Occasionally they will use copyright free matierial from garageband, or downloaded from the internet. (eg. recordings with a Creative Commons licence). Basically, its all fine, please don't sue us.. |
